Tribute to John Ryde

From our hearts to yours

The names John… John Ryde. I could write a million things, but hey-ho.

John was a charismatic, charming man. Emanating warmth and kindness, combined with the rarity of empathy.

A naturally funny and sarcastic man, he was also a storyteller – and boy could he tell a story! (Some were long, so long…) but usually had a twist or shot of wisdom at the end.

John loved to read, travel and had a ‘thing’ for Nefertiti. He was an accomplished artist and had a unique gift for painting and drawing. His work touched the hearts of many.

John also had a fondness for quotes, for example from Oscar Wilde – “An excellent man; he has no enemies; and none of his friends like him!”

Perhaps more famously by John Ryde – “It’s 3 bits of plastic, how hard can it be?”

Johns’ family were the most important part of his life, along with is beloved Dog Rio.

His friends and work family were up there too, and he cared unconditionally.

Our world is certainly a sadder place without him.

In the words of the famous song… “Wherever I Lay My Hat (That’s My Home)”

Well to John, there was no place like home.
