What is Timloc?

Timloc Building Products has manufactured in East Yorkshire for more than 50 years and is part of the Alumasc Group. Its cavity closer range sits alongside a wider set of ventilation and building products. Much of what it makes uses recycled plastic. At Subframes we have the Thermo-Loc closers in stock, so the Timloc range can be sourced alongside the rest of the cavity closers we supply.

The benefits of Timloc cavity closers

Every Timloc cavity closer carries an insulated core through the full depth of the profile, so closing the cavity does not open a cold bridge around the opening. The range covers standard and fire-rated options across the common cavity widths, which lets a project source most of its closers from one range. Much of the range uses recycled plastic, with no change to how the closer fits or performs. For a fabricator or contractor, the thermal detail, the fire performance and the recycled content come from a single, established system.

Thermal efficiency

A cavity closer earns its place at the reveal by keeping the insulation continuous where the wall is interrupted for a window or door. The Timloc closers do this with an insulated core that sits across the full cavity, so heat is not lost through the closer and the inner face stays warmer. That warmer surface is what keeps condensation and the mould growth that follows off the reveal. Holding the thermal contiguous line at every opening helps a build meet the fabric performance expected under Building Regulations Part L (Conservation of Fuel and Power).

The Timloc Thermo-Loc range

Thermo-Loc splits into standard closers and a fire-rated FR range. The standard closers cover the everyday cavity widths and thermal detailing. The FR range is tested to Building Regulations Part B (Fire Safety) at 30-minute and 60-minute ratings for openings that call for fire performance.
